Short answer, our soaps are entirely vegetable-based, and the finished product contains no lye.

All  soaps must contain lye as a basic component. Olive, coconut, and other types of liquid vegetable oils that we use are transformed into the hardened product by the catalyst.

The lye and oil molecules are combined and chemically changed into soap and glycerin at the conclusion of the saponification process, which is the chemical reaction used to make soap. There is actually no lye remaining in the finished soap as a result of the reaction at the end of the soap-making process.
